Elkwood Campground is a hidden gem, tucked away in the woods and offering a peaceful and quiet atmosphere. The road to the campground is a bit rough, with a mile of uphill dirt road, but the owners are very friendly and accommodating, giving visitors a choice of two campsites and offering a full refund if they are unsatisfied. The sites are spacious, with a good mixture of full sun and partial shade, and the nature trails are beautiful. Unfortunately, there are a lot of ticks in the area, so visitors should come prepared. The campground is family-run and is a work in progress, with recent upgrades to the sites. There is no WiFi or cable, but cell phone reception is poor. The pool is a mile away from the campsites, and the roads are all dirt and gravel, with some sites close together for camper groups. Firewood is delivered to your site, and the owners recommend using Google Maps to get there.

Elkwood Campground is a nature lover's retreat located in beautiful Northern Michigan. It offers a quiet and simple place to stay for those campers who want something a little off the beaten path. The campground has its own trails and views of wildlife, and is minutes away from the Sturgeon River, Pigeon River Country, and elk viewing areas. Mackinac Island and Petoskey are in easy driving proximity along with plenty of other tourist areas and attractions. The campground offers various sites and rates for campers. Amenities include trails, wildlife viewing, and proximity to nearby attractions. Discounts may be available. Reviews are not available at this time.
