While this park isnt a take your breath away experience, it is a solid park for hiking and solitude. This campground is perfect for families and small groups looking for a peaceful getaway. The sites are large with choices of shade or sun and have water and electric hookups. The campground also features a playground with swings, a few brand new pit toilets, and a camp host who is friendly and knowledgeable. The downside is that the shower house has not been updated, and the water is difficult to regulate. There is no cell reception, and the park does not feature a dump site for RV tanks. The park is full of wildlife and historic buildings, and features a swimming hole and streams. The trails are dynamic and have an abundance of wildlife, and the beach is perfect for swimming in the summer. The campgrounds are nicely spread out and well kept, and there is a self-serve firewood spot in the campsite.

From The Campground
Old Mill State Park is a beautiful park located in Minnesota. The park offers camping, hiking, fishing, and nature viewing opportunities. The park has three campgrounds: Yellow Medicine River Campground, horse campground, and backpack/watercraft campground. The park is accessible by car, but be aware that the highway that used to run through the park has been permanently closed. There is now an unavoidable 16 to 20 mile drive to get from Yellow Medicine Campground on the east side to the park office, main entrance or horse campground on the west side.
