Bunker Hills Campground is a wonderful campground located in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, just a short drive from the Twin Cities. It offers large, private sites with power and water, as well as a single dump station at the exit of the campground. The sites are mostly dirt with some gravel, and most have some shade. The bathrooms are extremely clean, and the campground is well maintained and quiet. The park features a golf course, a restaurant, disc golf, a huge waterpark, a stable, and multiple trails. There are 8 miles of paved biking trails, and the campground is surrounded by trees and foliage for privacy. There is an $8 reservation fee and a vehicle permit ($5 daily or $25 annually) required for entry. There is also a wave pool/water park nearby, and the campground is conveniently located to local shopping malls. Be aware of poison ivy, which is growing along many of the trails and campsites, and the gate closes at 10:00 PM.
