What others are saying about this campground
Schoolcraft State Park Campground is the perfect destination for those looking for a peaceful, secluded camping experience. Located right on the Mississippi River, the campground offers easy access to the river for canoers, with a designated canoe site that requires a fee to stay. The campsites are semi-wooded and private, with fire pits, grates, picnic tables, and a pump style water source in the picnic area. A short walk from the campground is a beautiful river-side boat landing and dock, making it easy to access your gear. There is also a hiking loop around the park, and the nearby Forest History Center offers a recreated logging camp and museum. With its peaceful charm and lack of in-park amenities, Schoolcraft State Park Campground is the perfect spot for a quiet getaway.

From The Campground
Schoolcraft State Park is a beautiful park located in Minnesota. The park offers camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and nature viewing. There are three campgrounds available: Yellow Medicine River Campground, horse campground, and backpack/watercraft campground. The park is accessible by car, but be aware that the highway that used to run through the park has been permanently closed. There is now an unavoidable 16 to 20 mile drive to get from Yellow Medicine Campground on the east side to the park office, main entrance or horse campground on the west side.
