What others are saying
Silver Rapids Campground is a great place to stay for those looking for access to many lakes and the BWCA. The lodge has a shower house, bar/ Lounge, restaurant,  boat and canoe rentals, game room, free Wifi, a playground, bait & tackle, a private swim beach and laundry facility. Across the street from the lodge is the campground, boat ramp & small toilet rooms a little primitive. The campground sites are very narrow and close together, and the outhouses smell terrible. The lake front sites have a beautiful view, but are spoiled by the noise from a highway. There are also a handful of sites up the steep hill with full hookups. Wifi is available, but slows down at night. The owners went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, but there are no amenities included in the campground fees. The tent sites are right along the lake shore, but are crammed in so tightly with your neighbors that its very noisy.

From The Campground

Silver Rapids Lodge is a historic resort located in the heart of Minnesota’s Superior National Forest at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). Established in 1919, it offers year-round accommodations with lakeside cabins, motel suites, and campgrounds. Situated on a private peninsula on a chain of 4 lakes with access to the BWCA, Silver Rapids is an outdoor enthusiast’s haven. Whether your interests are fishing, canoeing, boating, hiking, or snowmobiling, they have something for you. Fireplaces, decks, private fire pits, hiking trails, beach, meeting rooms, gas, boats, pontoons, and direct BWCAW access are just some of the amenities they have (some available in certain cabins only). They also offer a seasonal restaurant and a year-round lounge in their historic lodge with a fireplace. Enjoy some of the best trophy fishing in the area with your choice of species. Enjoy their spectacular view from Lookout Mountain. Hike their private trails, kayak, cross-country ski, or just relax and let them pamper you.
