What others are saying about this campground
The Manitou River cascades are a half mile from the campground and the views are beautiful. The sites are wooded and you wont get a lot of sunlight. There is a bear pole for hanging food, a fire pit with metal grill grate, and a log bench. The trails are very rocky and narrow in spots with many elevations changes, making it a true backpacking experience. There is a non sheltered pit toilet within walking distance back up towards the trail and no showers or flush toilets. Be sure to bring appropriate clothing to protect from mosquitos and ticks and repellant, and be knowledgable in situations of crossing wildlife. The campground is perfect for those looking for seclusion and a challenging hike, but be aware that it may be busy on weekend afternoons as day hikers descend to do the short loops by the entrance.
