Golden Eagle Resort is a peaceful, quiet, and clean campground located off the Gunflint Trail, 27 miles north of Grand Marais. The sites have electrical hooups and other amenities preferred by RV campers, and there are trails all around with bear scat and moose tracks. The lake is beautiful and you can rent motorboats, pontoon boats, canoes & kayaks and dock space if you bring your own boat. The camp store/lodge offers Wi-Fi and local telephone service, but the Wi-Fi is not very strong. Ice and wood are also available for purchase. The resort also offers an evening campfire inside their teepee, with a local telling Native American stories and playing a flute. The rates are a bit steep, but it may be worth it for the amenities and the peaceful atmosphere.
