Upper Sioux Agency State Park is a great spot for camping and outdoor activities. The campground is well-maintained and clean, with potable water and mowed sites and paths. There are several sites with full shade and privacy, as well as some that are in sunny areas. There are also walk-in sites available for those willing to carry their stuff in a little ways. The park has over 18 miles of trails, with grassy paths mowed along the Yellow Medicine River, through the prairie, and over the grasslands. There are two 18-foot diameter canvas tepees located in the Yellow Medicine River Campground. There are no RV dump sites in the park, but a dump station is available in Granite Falls. There is some privacy between sites, but it is limited as the only separation is prairie grasses. Verizon and AT&T signals are good with good data when there are only a few sites occupied. There are also horse trails in the park. The fireflies and frogs make for a beautiful night time experience. The park is a great way to experience unique camping with the Tipi camping option. The staff at the park is very helpful and will bring firewood to your campsite if needed.
