What others are saying about this campground
Most campsites at Father Hennepin State Park in Isle, MN are shaded and perfect for hammocks. Firewood is available at the office. The park is highly recommended for fall colors. The campgrounds are great for solo or family trips, providing a mix of car camping and access to nature. There are nice trails to hike and walk, and plenty of bike paths as well. The beach is long and rocky, but ample enough to swim in with lovely views of the really big lake. The electric hook ups are well maintained, and bathrooms are nice and clean with vault toilets scattered throughout the park. The park provides a great opportunity for swimming, playground activities, boating, fishing, and walking. Maple grove is a more primitive site that has more coverage between campsites. Some campers experienced some wildlife, like raccoons or skunks, but nobody was concerned for safety. The only negative feedback was regarding microtrash scattered about the site.
