This campground is an undiscovered gem located in a tundra prairie grass area. The campground is perfect for families or those looking for a peaceful experience, with electric and non-electric sites available. The sites are nicely wooded for shade and vegetation between sites provides privacy. There is a beach and observation tower worth visiting, and miles of paved and unpaved hiking and biking trails. The lake offers a 180 degree view and the campground has reliable but slow wifi. The showers are small, dark, and worn, and the area is buggy with mosquitos. There are some nice sites along the shore, but these usually get booked up first. Cell phone coverage is decent and there is a large parking lot available. The rate is a little steep, but visitors will enjoy the peace of the off season and the friendly Ranger.
