Set in a lush rolling prairie with lots of hiking trails, visitors can enjoy the archery range and swimming pond in addition to exploring the various walking paths. The modern campground is built for non-tent campers and offers large, spacious sites, while the rustic campground is an offshoot of the horse trailer parking lot and offers more basic facilities. The group campgrounds have more modern outhouses and offer a great camping opportunity. There is an additional daily park fee or an annual pass that can be purchased. Despite the low fees, the amenities include campfire rings and picnic tables, showers, and lakewater pools. Some reviewers noted firewood quality could improve. Lake Elmo Park Reserve is a great place to stay when visiting St. Paul and the surrounding areas.

Washington County Parks - Lake Elmo Campground offers a variety of campsites, including rustic campsites, 20 or 30 amp campsites, 50 amp campsites with water, 50 amp campsites with water and sewer, standard group campsites, group campsites with shelter, group campsites with shelter and electricity, and hike-in campsites. The campground also features a dump station and a reservation fee of $8 per site. Cancellations for campsites must be made at least 3 days prior to the reservation start date to receive a refund. The reservation fee is non-refundable. Refunds are not given due to weather.
