What others are saying
This campground is the perfect place for a family getaway! Located in Lanesboro, MN, it is within walking distance to a quaint little town. The campground is long and narrow, following the banks of the Root River. Its a great location for biking, with the Root River Bike Trail crossing the driveway into the campground. There are a large number of seasonal campers, but still an abundance of sites available for reservations or drop-ins. The best features are the huge playground for kids and the river tubing option right from the campground. Its decently quiet at night, but there are a lot of large RVs so expect some people and car activity. There are a few paths down a steep bank to get to the river, but nothing you would want to send your children to check out unattended. The bathrooms are not very busy at all, making it a great spot for tenters. Reservations can be made in advance with just a name, no phone number or credit card needed. With many sites offering shade, this campground is the perfect spot for a peaceful and fun-filled family vacation.
