What others are saying
This campground is a great option for those looking for a more private and secluded camping experience. With heavily shaded sites, a large green space, and a pavilion, this campground is perfect for family gatherings or day picnics. There are also plenty of hiking trails and a Wildflower hike, where you can find many flowers and berries even in the middle of summer. The campsites are a bit smaller, but still offer enough room for one tent or small RV. Carley State Park is the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, with rustic charm, relative quiet, and a hint of summer camp nostalgia.

From The Campground

Carley State Park is a beautiful park located in Minnesota. The park offers camping, hiking, fishing, boating, and nature viewing. There are several campgrounds available, including the Yellow Medicine River Campground, the horse campground, and the backpack/watercraft campground. The park is located on the west side of the Yellow Medicine River, and there is an unavoidable 16 to 20 mile drive to get from Yellow Medicine Campground on the east side to the park office, main entrance or horse campground on the west side. Please note that self-payment envelopes are no longer accepted on site, and the highway that used to run through the park has been permanently closed. Visitors are advised to use the provided directions and coordinates in their GPS instead of relying on Google Maps or other map and GPS apps.
