You can also fish for trout along the bordering stream. Maple Springs Campground is the perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing camping experience. Located on the Root River in beautiful Southeast Minnesota, the campground is immaculately maintained and offers large, level sites with plenty of shade. There is a small general store and a dog park, and the campground is close to town and backs up to a national park. On Memorial Weekend, they offer a pot luck lunch and pork chops on a stick, all free and great food. The campground is mosquito free and the few roads are easy to navigate. The camp staff is accommodating and the owner, Andy, is the nicest person youll ever meet. There is a spring-fed river that runs along the north side of the campground, and you can hike up to the source just a mile upstream. You can also fish for trout along the bordering stream. The campground is close to the Mystery Cave, which is highly recommended. Forestville State Park is literally next door and you can dump there for $5.00. Maple Springs is a true treasure and the perfect place to come home to after a day of exploring.

The campground offers a variety of activities for everyone, including hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, bird watching, and snowmobiling. They also have a playground and beautiful backdrops for photography. The campground is known for its beautiful scenery and lack of mosquitoes. They offer RV and tent camping, as well as horse trailer camping.
