What others are saying about this campground
Woodenfrog State Forest Campground is a perfect spot to enjoy Voyageurs National Park. It is a primitive campground nestled into the boreal forest, with 60 sites spread across two loops. Most sites are tucked in the trees for privacy, and have fire rings, picnic tables, and vault toilets. There is a hiking trail that runs around the camp, a boat dock on Lake Kabetogama, and plenty of parking for boat trailers. It is a great spot for tent camping, with no electric but plenty of trees for shade and privacy. The sites are fairly level, and there are water spigots scattered throughout the campground. It is a quiet, peaceful spot, with lots of wildlife and a short trail to the lake. It is a great place to launch a kayak, and there are several canoe/kayak rental places nearby.

From The Campground

Finland Campground and day use area is currently closed for all use, due to extreme winter storm damage and a spruce budworm infestation. We need to assess and remove a great number of hazard trees before the area is safe for visitors. We will reopen the campground as soon as it is safe, but with this degree of damage, we expect it will be closed for two to four months.
