Temperance River State Park is a beautiful and secluded campground tucked away between two harbors and Grand Marais. The campsites are nicely spaced out, with good facilities and close to other State Parks along the north shore of Lake Superior. The views of the river are stunning and the sound of the water in the background makes for a lovely campfire soundtrack. The trails are easy to follow and the park is well-maintained with plenty of water spigots and vault toilets spread throughout. The main bathroom facility is well-maintained and the upper campground has a modern shower building. The park is also close to many attractions such as alpine slides, gondola rides, shopping, mini golf, breweries and the Sugarloaf Cove Nature Center. Temperance River State Park is the perfect place to call home base for a bit and take day trips around the North Shore.
