Hidden Valley Campground in Welch, Minnesota is a picturesque campground with large sites located between the Canon Valley Bike Trail and the Canon River. The road down into the camp is rutted and difficult, and sites are not marked out or assigned. It is first come first serve, and people set up wherever they find space. Unfortunately, the campground is plagued with issues such as excessive noise from boom-boxes and drunken partiers until late at night, an unleashed dog wandering around in the womens bathroom, and chain saws being used to presumably cut firewood and fireworks being shot after quiet hours. The amenities are sparse, with electrical hookups taken up by permanent campers, water from the bathroom sink, a playground of dilapidated equipment, and bathrooms which are poorly maintained and filthy with no paper towels or spiders. The campground provides a garbage drop site and tubes for a small fee to ride down the river. Though there are other children to play with and the area is clean, this campground is not recommended due to the lack of safety and cleanliness.
