GenieSummary

Natchez State Park is a lovely campground, but, unfortunately, the road leading to it has been closed for over a year. However, the staff at the park are helpful and will give you directions on how to find the detour route. The new road is said to be under construction, but theres no telling when it will be completed. The park itself is peaceful with spacious sites and well-maintained facilities. Its located near the lower section of the Natchez Trace and the city of Natchez. The park has beautiful walking trails along with a serene lake. Although beware, there are some snakes in the area. The campground has a lot of trees which provides privacy. The cabins and showers are clean but could use some updates. The park manager is friendly, informative, and understanding. The area is gorgeous, and the drive into Natchez is about 35 minutes because of the rough detour road. Overall, its definitely an excellent spot to stay.

From The Campground

Natchez State Park is located just 10 miles north historic Natchez, the oldest settlement on the Mississippi River. Visitors can enjoy disc golf, picnic area/shelter, playground, nature trail, freshwater fishing, and a boat launch.
