What others are saying about this campground
Wild Boar Campground at Mark Twain National Forest is a great spot for rustic camping. It is conveniently located close to trails for mountain biking and running, and the beach is a short walk away. There are drop toilets close to the sites, and the beach is a fairly short walk (~1mi) to the farthest campsite. The campground has a large green space and pavilions for a picnic, as well as BBQ pits and tables. Unfortunately, no fires are allowed and pets are not allowed. Canoes and kayaks are available to rent for a fee, and there is a 12 mile trail that goes around the lake. Clean restrooms and a shower house are available. There is no water at the campground, but the ranger station advised to use Silver Springs and one other campground to fill up. Site 43 is a great spot for a trailer, but the terracing railroad ties are rotted and should be replaced. There are feral hogs in the area, so be aware of your surroundings. A National Park pass is required but there was no one there to check them, everything seems to be done on the honor system.
