This campground is an older campground with many mature trees, two large ponds, and lots of recreational activities on site. Despite its age, the owner/manager is extremely nice and the campground is safe. Unfortunately, the grounds are scattered with old trucks and broken down cars, and the buildings and tables are green and need cleaning. The grass is overgrown, and the two ponds smell bad. The trees limbs need to be trimmed to prevent damage to the sides of coaches. The interior roads are narrow with over-hanging tree limbs and bushes extending into the roadways. The campground is located just off I-70 and is about an hour from STL. It has a good Verizon voice and data signal. The hosts are accommodating and allow visitors to pick fresh apricots and choke cherries. Despite the tight turns and overgrown foliage, it is a good overnight stop.
