The Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) is an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering camping, boating, swimming, water skiing, fishing, and other activities. LORA is open to Active Duty Military, Retired Military, members of the National Guard and Reserves, DoD employees with ID cards, family members, and Fort Leonard Wood contract employees. The LORA Country Store carries ice, beverages, firewood, and a small selection of food and supplies for camping and fishing, including fishing licenses. The campground offers tent sites, camper sites with full or partial hook ups, and cabins ranging from 1-3 bedrooms at a reasonable price. The campground is primitive, with only outdoor restrooms available. The roads inside the park are good, but the entry roads and highway leading to the park are narrow and rough in places. The campground offers quality shade for summer camping, but the water pressure is low and the check-in point is down a steep hill with no place to park an RV.

Lake of the Ozarks Recreation Area (LORA) is a scenic campground located in Linn Creek, Missouri. The campground covers 1,150 shore miles and 92 square miles of water, offering one of the best scenic panoramas in the state and a range of leisure and water activities that will excite and enchant any visitor. The lake offers some of Missouri's finest recreational and sight-seeing opportunities above the water, and underneath the water, it's a paradise for anglers with large-mouth bass, crappie, white bass, stripers, and catfish. LORA is a perfect destination for family and friends, with indoor and outdoor water parks, amusement parks, miniature golf, go-carts, air excursions, boat rides, boat races, horseback riding, bowling, toe-tapping' fun country music shows, festivals, fireworks, museums, and tours of local caves.
