Roads throughout campground are gravel, not paved, if that makes a difference with kids bringing scooters or bikes. Cons: quite a bit of poison oak around the fish cleaning area, shade at the pool is at a minimum, my phone (AT&T) could not get service there.. Lake Paradise is a campground located near Kansas City, Missouri. The new owners have recently remodeled the pool, opened a store, and will have an ice cream shop and restaurant. The access road is about 2 miles long and very narrow, with low hanging branches, making maneuvering difficult. The park is old and badly maintained, with grass uncut and tall weeds covering most of the sites. There are lots of trees with low hanging branches, making entry and exit hazardous. The sites are narrow and close to neighbors, but not quite level. Amenities include a restaurant, two club houses, large swimming pool, and Wi-Fi. There is a lot of poison oak around the fish cleaning area and shade at the pool is at a minimum. AT&T phone service is not available.
