What others are saying about this campground
Long Branch State Park is a great destination for RVers, campers, and tent campers alike. The park is located in north central Missouri, just off Highway 36, and is surrounded by a pristine lake with plenty of opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and more. The majority of campsites have lake views and are far enough from the highway that it is quiet at night. The campsites are equipped with concrete pads, picnic tables, and fire pits, and the park also offers a swimming beach, boat ramps, a marina with a small store, picnic areas, and walking trails. The park is well-maintained and clean, and there is a firewood vending machine and ice for sale by the camp host. There is also a shower house with bathrooms conveniently located throughout the park. Reservations are recommended, as the park does fill up quickly. Verizon has Extended Network service here, and the only downside is that the asphalt pads need repair/replacing. However, for the price, the park offers a great value and is a great spot to enjoy the outdoors.

From The Campground

Long Branch State Park is a picturesque park located in the Chariton River Hills. The park offers a variety of activities including fishing, boating, swimming, camping, hiking, picnicking, canoeing/kayaking, metal detecting, special-use camping, bicycling, backpacking, interpretive programs, and playground. The park's modern campground is a perfect place for overnight stays. The park preserves some of the last savanna and prairie remnants in the Chariton River Hills. Trails through Chariton River Hills Natural Area provide a good way for hikers to see colorful prairie wildflowers and a variety of birds, including red-headed woodpeckers, brown thrashers and indigo buntings.
