What others are saying about this campground
Johnsons Shut-ins is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy nature in the Missouri Ozarks. The campground offers a variety of sites, from basic tent sites to full hook-ups with 50 amp service. Each site has a paved pad, picnic table, and fire ring. The campground also includes restrooms and showers in each loop, bike paths, playground, amphitheater for evening programs, and a camp store with wifi. The park also has a visitor center, picnic area, hiking trails, and the shut-ins, which is a wonderful place to splash and swim. There is a special parking lot for registered campers, so you have access to the shut-ins even if the day-use area is full. The campground store is stocked with groceries, firewood, and other miscellaneous camping items, although the prices can be a bit high. There is no cell service or TV in the campground, but you can get cell service at the Park Visitor Center which is a mile away. The staff at the campground and the park ranger are very friendly and helpful. Be aware that the shut-ins can be dangerous during high water, and no coolers or disposable drinks are allowed in the park. Johnsons Shut-ins is a great place to explore the outdoors and experience all that nature has to offer.
