What others are saying about this campground
There are two playgrounds that are great for kids and adults alike can enjoy biking and walking through the campground and along the trails, some of which offer lake access with beautiful views and good fossil hunting along the shores of Mark Twain Lake. The facilities are a bit dated and rusty in places, but the general outdoor ambiance cant be beaten. There is a well maintained hiking trail that connects the east and west campgrounds and extends down to the beach. The roads are excellent and the individual sites are a mixture of electric only and full hookups. The site is shady and not far from the Comfort Station or the shower house halfway into the Eagle Point campground. There is an entrance gate, but there was no attendant on duty when we arrived, so we found a non-reservable site, set up, and paid later.
