What others are saying about this campground
Arrow Rock State Historic Site in Nelson, MO is a peaceful and clean campground with nicely sized, well-spaced sites. The campground is mostly shaded, and very well-maintained accompanied with well-marked hiking trails and fishing spots. There are electric-only sites, which can be challenging to level; however, if you choose a 50amp back-in site, it will provide a better leveling option. There is ample space between sites; however, cell phone reception is limited. Verizon was hit and miss, and ATT was very weak. The town of Arrow Rock adds a great element to staying here that is a fun area to explore. The park also includes a beautiful, quiet, and shaded walking path around the area.

From The Campground
Arrow Rock State Historic Site is a serene village that was once a bustling river town. Visitors can stroll through the streets lined with the architecture of the historic “Boone’s Lick Country” and visit historic buildings such as the J. Huston Tavern, the Old Courthouse, and George Caleb Bingham's house. The site also features exhibits and audio-visual presentations in the visitor center that tell the history of Arrow Rock and the “Boone’s Lick Country”. The historic J. Huston Tavern, which dates back to 1834, provides a dining experience in the oldest continuously operating restaurant west of the Mississippi River. The site is part of the larger Village of Arrow Rock, which features quaint stores and several antique shops.
