Newburg Campground is a hidden gem located near Rolla, MO, along I-44. It is a large, open, grassy pasture with big shade trees and lots of space. The campground has 99 full hook up, pull-through sites that can accommodate big rigs and a 30 amp hook up. There is access to the James River for floating or fishing, and the park has recently added park wide WiFi access. The access road is all paved, but it is a rather narrow and steep 3½ mile downhill trip to get to the campground. There is road noise from I-44, and some cell phones and air cards wont get a good signal. Hookups at the sites are not to code and dangerous - the water and electric hookups are in the same metal box (which is also the site marker). The owners are young and trying to improve the campground, and they are still graveling roads and doing landscaping. There is a pool, but it is still under construction. The campground was fully flooded 2 months ago, but has made a great comeback.
