The campground is nice and quiet, it was a holiday weekend but it was not crowded at all. The lake was beautiful and clear and the kids had a great time canoeing and fishing. The park rangers were patrolling the area and keeping an eye on things. The campsite has a fire ring and picnic tables, and there is a camp store nearby for wood and ice. There is also a marina with boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards for rent. The Hermitage side of the state park has a nice swim beach along a peninsula with plenty of room. There is a Dollar General nearby for supplies and an Alps store with food options. The campground is great for families with a playground and vault toilets scattered throughout the loops.

Pomme de Terre State Park is located on both the Hermitage and Pittsburg sides of Pomme de Terre Lake in Missouri. The park offers a variety of activities including fishing, boating, camping, lodging, swimming, hiking, picnicking, canoeing/kayaking, playground, interpretive programs, dining, and metal detecting. The park has two public swimming beaches, two hiking trails, and approximately 240 campsites, three yurts, four camper cabins, one full-service marina cabin, and a lake house for lodging options. The park is ideal for multiday getaways.
