L&C State Park is a great place for families to get away and enjoy nature. The campground has paved roads leading to and around the campground, making it easy to walk or bike around. Most of the camping spots have some shade, and there is a playground for children and a small lake nearby for swimming and fishing. The lake side picnic areas are great for bird watching and fishing, and the day use area next to the oxbow lake and the paved walking trail to the Lewis & Clark historical exhibits are great attractions. There are electric hookups at the sites, but potable water is available at the free, easy access dump station near the entry/exit. The host said there was some recent heavy rain and there were several areas of standing water throughout the park, so there are a lot of mosquitoes. The campground is surrounded by lush green grass and huge shade trees, making it a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

The park's broad open spaces make it a favorite for families who take advantage of the scenic picnic areas and playground.
