Smithville Lake Campground is a great place for families to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing camping experience. With paved roads for walking, biking, and plenty of grassy areas for lawn chairs, grills, and yard games, there is plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the outdoors. The lake offers plenty of opportunities for fishing, swimming, and boating, and the nearby playground and swimming beach provide hours of entertainment for the kids. The campsites are large and well-maintained, with electric hookups, fire pits, grills, and picnic tables. The shower houses and bathrooms are clean and well-stocked, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The campground is also close to town, so you can easily pick up any forgotten items. Alcohol is not allowed on the beach, and the campground is strict about day passes and boat passes. Though the website is outdated, the overall experience is great and the views of the lake are beautiful.
