What others are saying about this campground
Racoon Ridge and Buck Ridge campgrounds at the park were both visited and found to be clean and well-maintained. The pads for the sites are angled for easier backing in, and the sites come with fire pits and picnic tables. There is partial view of a lake from some sites, and a short path leads to the water. Big park with multiple campgrounds, no water at sites, but potable water is available at the dump station. There are many trees providing lots of shade, and activities for kids such as mammal lessons, kite flying, etc. The campground is a good distance from town, and there are no fishing piers (but you can rent a boat). Restrooms are dated but clean, and there are electric only sites available at $21 per night. The back in sites have 30 amp electric, no water or sewer hookups, and can be reserved online or by tags. The campground is clean, quiet and has beautiful views of the Truman reservoir. Town is within 7 miles and a visitor center is worth visiting.
