Chipmunk Crossing is a unique campground located in central southern Missouri. It is a small park with only 18 sites, but offers plenty of amenities such as clean restrooms, laundry, modem hookup and fax service, an in-ground pool, playground, shuffleboard and horseshoes, catch and release pond fishing, and a recreation hall and room. It is animal and people friendly, with a fire pit area, horseshoe, and a unique walking trail. There is also a large free library with an abundance of books of various literary genres. The roads are good gravel with gentle turns, and there is plenty of shade. It is only open six months of the year, but is well worth the drive for the rolling hills of the countryside and the peaceful atmosphere.
