GenieSummary

This is not a big woods campground so some dont like it much, but if you appreciate both mountains and plains you will love it.. Every campsite in Glacier in peak season will get full. St. Mary Campground is the perfect place to stay for an outdoor adventure in Glacier National Park. Located just to the right when you enter the east side of the park, the campground is open all year with reservations during the summer months. Enjoy the beauty of the Aspen leaves in golden brilliance and the blue glacial waters of St Mary Lake and River. Hike to the off the grid campsites that dont need reservations and give you the ultimate outdoor experience. Take a half mile trail to the Visitor Center for information, films, exhibits, and shuttles for the Going To The Sun Road. Enjoy generous campsites and ranger talks. Unfortunately, tent camping is no longer allowed due to bear activity. Bathrooms are clean but could use an update. There are no hookups, reservations, showers, or dump station, but the campground is a great value at $14 with a Golden Age Pass. Enjoy the stunning sites with great natural views and capture some faint Aurora Borealis on your time-lapse GoPro.
