What others are saying
Summit Campground is a great stop-over spot conveniently located near the south side of Glacier National Park. It is a cheap, no-frills campsite with lots of openings and just $10 a night. The campground is situated in a forested area along Highway 2, west of East Glacier and is close to the freeway for easy access. The campground is small and secluded with a beautiful little trout stream flowing through it. There are fire pits, water, bathrooms, and a playground for the kids. The sunset over the lake is breathtaking, and there is a swimming area on the opposite side of the park. The mosquitos can be bad at sunset but let up a bit after dark. There is some road noise and trains can be quite loud, but it is still a great site to stay at. Make sure to plan ahead and bring grub and beer/luxury items with you as there are not many services between East and West Glacier.
