This campground is located in Essex, about 25 minutes from the Apgar entrance to Glacier National Park. It is a rustic, pretty park with lots of trees, but is located between railroad tracks and the road, making it not a quiet haven. The sites are big enough to accommodate 38 ft 5th wheels and are surrounded by a pine forest, giving the air a heavenly scent. The wifi is working and has a great strong signal, but there is no cell phone service (T mobile). The price is high ($60 usd) and refunds are not given no matter the circumstances. The man who checked us in was abrupt and rude. The female manager was not able to assign our site, run the credit card or make any kind of decision. The breakfast buffet is available or you can order off the menu, but if you have food allergies you may need to go down the road for breakfast. The agents are friendly and helpful and the restrooms and showers are clean. Unfortunately, the campground is quite noisy from the constant freight trains and the 70 mile an hour highway. The red traffic cones across the entrance also add to the inconvenience. This campground is located about half way between the east and west entrances of the park, but is quite a distance to each one, so not real convenient.

Glacier Haven Resort offers 19 full-service RV sites, numerous tenting options, inn & motel rooms, and 2- & 3-bedroom cabins. The rustic interior design is cozy and helps you feel part of nature with all of the comforts and conveniences of home. They have a full hot breakfast available on site every day but Monday, and the restaurant is also open for dinner most nights of the week. They make you feel like you're one of the family, go out of their way to be gracious and kind to people. The owners here really care about details and are kind, warm and friendly.
