What others are saying about this campground
Bowman Lake Campground in Polebridge, MT, is a primitive campground located in Glacier National Park. This remote location is perfect for nature lovers who want to experience peace and quiet. The sites are spacious and surrounded by trees, which gives campers room for privacy. There is a designated trail that leads to Bowman Lake, where campers can kayak, paddleboard, or canoe. The lake view is stunning, and there are many spots to enjoy around the water. Pit toilets and water spigots are available throughout the campground. However, there are no hookups, making it a purely primitive camping experience. The road leading to the campground is long and bumpy, so it is necessary to have a sturdy vehicle to reach the location. Polebridge Mercantile is around 30-40 minutes away and offers a small selection of food supplies if needed. Kintla Lake is another secluded area that you can reach by driving on a dirt road for about an hour. Overall, Bowman Lake Campground is a peaceful and picturesque camping spot that campers will want to return to.

From The Campground

Glacier National Park offers a variety of campgrounds for visitors to enjoy. Visitors must follow food storage regulations to avoid attracting bears and other wildlife. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 pm to 6 am, and generator use is only permitted during certain times. Pets are allowed in developed areas, front-country campsites, picnic areas, along roads, and in vessels on lakes where motorized watercraft are permitted. Firewood is available for purchase, and fires must be kept inside fire grates and attended at all times. Fee showers are available at select campgrounds. Visitors should be aware of the dangers of bears, mountain lions, and other wildlife in the area. Evening programs are offered throughout the summer. Primitive status campgrounds have limited water and sanitation facilities.
