Lonesomehurst Campground is a well-maintained and spacious campground close to Yellowstone National Park. It has great access to Hebgen Lake and offers beautiful views of tall trees. The campsites are big and well-spaced, but it can get busy during peak season. There are bear boxes available at every site, and some sites have electric hookups. Potable water is also available, but there is no dump station. The vault toilets are generally clean, although some reviewers reported otherwise. Although there are mosquitoes, they seem to be particularly bad during the summer months. While a few larger groups were cited for exceeding limits and playing loud music, the campground is generally quiet, and the hosts were friendly and helpful. Overall, Lonesomehurst Campground would be a beautiful camping destination worth visiting again, despite some of the above challenges.
