Whitefish Campground is an older campground located in Whitefish, Montana. It is situated near a lake with great access and close to town and numerous services, yet still feels isolated. The sites are heavily wooded and small, making it difficult to generate sufficient solar power. Some sites are close to an active train track and some are on a steep incline. The campground is well maintained and clean, however the trains run all night long and can be very loud, making it difficult to sleep. Earplugs are recommended. The staff is friendly and helpful, and refunds are available if you terminate your stay early. There are paddle boards available to rent and great hikes nearby. The sunsets across the lake are beautiful and the Northern Lights can be seen during the summer months. On the Fourth of July, you can see the citys fireworks display on the lake. The bathrooms are clean and showers are $3 for 6 minutes. AT&T barely works but the Verizon signal is strong. Bring earplugs and a white noise machine if you plan to stay here.
From The Campground

There are 25 campsites available, offering a variety of tent-only and RV camping opportunities, plus a new hike-bike campsite convenient for cyclists traveling the nearby Great Divide route. Sea Me Paddle Kayaking Tours, Inc., concessionaire at Whitefish Lake State Park and Les Mason State Park, offers rental equipment, including stand-up paddle boards, kayaks, and pedal boats. Open daily from June 15 through Labor Day; hours of operation may vary.
