Tailrace Park is a 9.5-acre park situated at the Loup Tailrace and Platte River. It is popular for relaxed family fun with a children’s playground and picnic area. Fishing is quite popular along the entire canal except where posted. A limited number of primitive camping sites are available during the summer at no charge. Entry is via foot traffic only, no motor vehicle access. Restrooms are not available. The park offers views of the water flow over the Tailrace weir. Swimming is not permitted due to the unsafe rapid water in the tailrace.
