GenieSummary
This campground is a great spot for a quick getaway if you live in Southeast Nebraska. It is a state park, so it is kind of crowded, but still pretty quiet. There are two separate sections, and the North campground is not reservable, but it is much quieter. There are plenty of swimming beaches, one near the campground store, which has almost everything you need or forgot. There are two larger RV campgrounds- Pathfinder and Victory Lake, and then a smaller one on the other side of the railroad tracks. The lake is stocked and is a great spot for fishing. There are also plenty of trails for hiking and biking. The sites are large and laid out so that you arent looking right into your neighbors camper. There is a restaurant and snack bar, and youre also not too far from Fremont where you can buy supplies or grab something to eat. The staff is friendly and helpful and the park is well-maintained. There is some train noise, but it is usually quiet at night. There is a Rec Room that can be rented for family reunions. There is also a large elevator not too far away, which produces a lot of noise. There is an additional state tax (park permit) required beyond the daily camping fee.
From The Campground
Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area is a popular destination for campers, picnickers, and water enthusiasts. The park has about 40 land acres and nearly 300 water acres in 20 sandpit lakes. Visitors come for great boating, fishing, and water skiing. The park offers Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, and Primitive campsites in four campgrounds. Fremont SRA campgrounds are situated among mature shade trees and provide campers with showers, modern restrooms, drinking water, and two dump and fill stations are available.
