Blustem is a great state recreation area located within 20 miles of Lincoln, Nebraska. It is the perfect spot for those who like to get away from RV-heavy campsites. Here, you will find clean raised toilets, trails, an archery range, boating, fishing, and hunting. In early spring, the campground is usually not busy and offers a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It is also a great spot for winter camping. The lake offers decent fishing, kayaking, and a swim beach. However, depending on when you visit, you may run into lots of party-folk. Cell service is good, with 4G available on Sprint. The campsites are primitive and cost 8 dollars a night. Unfortunately, there have been reports of dog shit all over the ground, and the price has jumped to 15 dollars a night.
