GenieSummary

This campground is perfect for those looking for a remote getaway. Located a half mile from the Agate Fossil Beds National Monument Visitor Center, this campground is situated on a 16,000 acre ranch which raises cattle, corn and alfalfa. There are hookups for 8 RVs, and the campground is best suited for 3-4 big rigs. There are no reservations and everything is self-pay when you arrive, but the owner, Donna Skavdahl is very responsive on the phone or their Facebook page. There is a Verizon dead zone about 30 miles in either direction of the campground, but you can get 1 dot of wifi at the NP Visitor Center during their operating hours. The sites are gravel and somewhat uneven with a mild slope if you’re in a bigger rig. There is a propane fire pit, clean toilet, water pump, water and picnic tables at the sites. You can also ride your bike on the road and there is little traffic. Be sure to watch out for snakes as you hike in the hills and area all around the campground!
