Sherman Reservoir State Recreation Area is a popular destination for fishing, camping, boating, hiking, and hunting. The park boasts a 2,845-acre lake and 4,721 land acres, with 360 non-pad primitive campsites, cabin rentals, and RV camping pads available through the local concessionaire. Other facilities include picnic tables, shelters, water, dump station, modern restrooms, vault toilets, four boat ramps, fish cleaning stations, coin-operated showers, and concession. The lake offers great fishing opportunities for walleye, crappie, catfish, white bass, and northern pike. The park also offers substantial hunting opportunities for upland game, big game, and waterfowl. Visitors can enjoy several trails for walking, hiking, and wildlife viewing, and dine at Trade Winds Marina on the north side of the dam.
