What others are saying
Nemaha NRD Park is a great destination for a quiet weekend getaway. The park is home to a man-made lake stocked with fish, making it ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. There are 28 total sites, including 4 designated for handicapped campers, with picnic tables, vault toilets, paved walking trails, playground equipment, and gravel slabs with electrical hookup. Visitors may also take advantage of the nearby Steamboat Trace Hiking/Biking Trail, a 26-mile trail following the bluffs and coming within spitting distance of the Missouri River. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including white pelicans, blue herons, hawks, owls, and eagles. Unfortunately, the park does not have a dump station and is located down a 1.5 mile stone road that is very dusty. A $5 day pass or $15 annual pass is required to enter the park. Despite these drawbacks, Nemaha NRD Park is a great spot for a rustic getaway and to take advantage of the great outdoors.
