GenieSummary

Branched Oak State Recreation Area is easily accessible from I-80, and even though the South Shore campground entrance sign is easy to miss, its worth finding. The roads leading to the park arent large but large RVs can navigate them easily. The South Shore campground has a small unmanned gate where visitors can obtain a park permit, and from there, its easy to reach the campsites. The South Shore campground has a mix of 30, 50, and full hook-up sites, and the FHUs include electricity with a 30/20 AMP option. The sites are well distributed, and neighbors are not too close. On one side of the campground are the lakeshore sites, which have idyllic views of the lake. The OTA channels we were able to get were very good, and there was also carriers signal from both Verizon and T-Mobile. The park is well maintained and offers visitors a variety of recreational opportunities, including boating and fishing. Overall, Branched Oak is a lovely, peaceful place to camp and spend time enjoying the great Nebraska outdoors.

From The Campground

Branched Oak State Recreation Area features the largest lake in eastern Nebraska and has long been a popular spot for fishing, boating and camping. Approximately 1,800 acres of water, along with well-maintained campsites, two swimming beaches, hiking trails and an equestrian campground draw visitors from near and far. A marina offers fuel, bait, boat rental, concessions and a bar and grill.
