GenieSummary
Point of Rocks Motel and Campground is a small, well-maintained RV park with lots of grass and plenty of space for even the biggest rigs. Located 15 miles west of Sidney on US30 and three miles east of Potter, the campground is adjacent to a busy Union Pacific train track, but no whistles are heard. The park is clean and easy to navigate, with pull-through and back-in sites that are both long and wide, and level with full hookups and 50 amps. There is a bath house in the center of the campground, although it is not currently open. The owners are very welcoming and helpful, and the price is a bargain at only $20 per night. The grounds are serene and well-kept, with shade trees and a lot of grassy parking places. The area is steeped in history, with rustic wilderness and the sharpest curve on the Union Pacific line nearby. With the windows closed and the air conditioning fan on, the train noise is not a problem. This is a great spot for a night or two, and a perfect place to get off the highway and explore the charming little town and have a great breakfast.
