What others are saying about this campground
Willow Cove offers a few sites with electric hookups and a few primitive sites. There is a boat ramp and a beach area. Pines area is a small primitive campground with only 3 sites. All with great lake view. Each site has a bench and fire ring. These sites are very spacious and could have multiple tents. Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area is a beautiful campground located near Valentine, NE. It offers a variety of campgrounds with both primitive and electric hookup sites. The campground is surrounded by the scenic Sandhills and overlooks the large reservoir, perfect for water sports. There are several boat ramps, beaches, and fire rings scattered throughout the campground, as well as ADA bathrooms and dumpsters. Cell service is spotty, so be prepared. The lake is great for fishing and hunting, and there are miles of quiet beaches to explore. The night sky is beautiful and peaceful, making it a great place for a family get together or a small group of friends. There are also several regional sites nearby, such as Snake Falls, Niobrara, and Valentine.
