Two Rivers SRA is a beautiful campground located on the Platte River. It offers a variety of camping options, including tent and RV camping, as well as the unique opportunity to rent a former Union Pacific Caboose for a nights stay. The cabooses feature a small kitchen, bathroom, AC and beds with mattresses. There are several camping areas, divided into sub sections with lots of trees for shade, seven lakes to fish, and four areas to choose from for camping. The campground is fairly clean and maintained, but due to the historic flooding this year, some areas are closed for repairs and the primary water is shutoff. There is a small camp store on site and multiple Iowa hydrants available for filling the holding tanks. Its a great place for an overnight stay, but not necessarily for a full-blown outing.

From The Campground

Two Rivers State Recreation Area offers various camping options including Electric Plus, Electric, Basic, and Basic Equestrian camping. The area offers modern restrooms with showers and a dump and fill station. Additionally, the park offers cabooses for rent from April 15 through the end of September. No pets are allowed in the cabooses. The park also offers equestrian camping at Whitetail Campground with drinking water, primitive restrooms, fire ring/grills, picnic tables, and 12x12 paneled horse pens. There are 2 miles of equestrian trails, and additional horseback riding is allowed on the 342-acre adjacent wildlife management area from Feb. 1 to Aug. 31. Guided rides and horse rental are not offered.
