Dayton State Park is a 160-acre park located in the Great Basin desert. The park features cottonwoods, sage, rabbitbrush, and willows. The lower park borders the Carson River, while the upper park includes the remains of old Highway 50 and the Rock Mill site. The park offers several recreational activities such as hiking, geocaching, and picnicking. Pets are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash of not more than six feet in length.
