What others are saying
There is no picnic table or fire ring. The bathrooms are clean but the laundry was out of order. The park is in town but not really near anything you would want to walk to except the Truckee River. They have a stated rig age limit but let us camp with our 1967 camper. Standard hookups are available but no picnic tables or fire rings. The view from our site was a lovely mountain vista, partially covered with snow - gorgeous! The only way to exit the site was to ask a permanent resident to move their truck - which they cordially did. The park is conveniently located on the Truckee River, just a short walk from all the attractions around Reno, and less than an hours drive from Lake Tahoe. It has nicely spaced RV sites for both overnight and long-term stays as well as cozy cottage rentals. The staff is very friendly and the spotless restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities make it a great place to stay. The park is close to the freeway, restaurants and right in Reno, making it a great place to stay for sightseeing.

River West Resort is a charming campground located on the banks of the Truckee River and minutes from Downtown Reno. They specialize in RV spaces for long term, short term, overnight guests, and tiny home living. The resort offers beautiful views of the Truckee river and is well-kept and clean. They have excellent service and a super kind and helpful manager and staff. The property is bordered by the beautiful Truckee River and scenic Idlewild Park, hence the apt renaming to the “River West Resort”.
